Khaki Campbell Mural.

The owners of a Pocono Short Term Rental contacted me to paint murals in 3 of their homes. They, themselves, live on a farm in Northern VA, so they decided to name each of the homes after their farm animals. This mural, the Khaki Campbell is named after their ducks.

The inspiration for the mural came from the “Greetings from” retro postcards of yore-they always stirred up a sense of adventure in me. Usually the letters depicted landmarks of the destination, so with these letters I divided them up in the 4 seasons and the activities one can do in each of them in the Poconos.

Spring-The letters “T”, “H” and “E”-T and H represent train excursions out of Jim Thorpe, E represents ATV tours

Summer-The letters “P”, “O” and “C”-P represents water skiing, O and C represent whitewater rafting down the Lehigh River

Fall-The letters “O” and “N”-O represents hiking in the boulder fields of Hickory Run State Park and N represents Biking on the D&L Trail, 165 miles of it!

Winter-The letters “O” and “S”-the letters represent downhill skiing in the multiple ski resort options available in the Poconos

This artwork resides in the Pocono Mountains in Lake Harmony, PA.
